Shout-Out to the Bucs on NFL Draft Night

Today worked out perfectly for Tampa Bay sports fans. The Rays had a great walk-off win this afternoon thanks to the heroics of new Ray Brandon Allen and because the Rays played a day game, Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans and fans of every NFL team got to watch the NFL Draft tonight. The Bucs traded down from the 5th overall pick to 7th overall and selected University of Alabama safety Mark Barron, who our friends at FanSided’s Bucs site, The Pewter Plank, discussed here. Still a ton of baseball to be played, but we’re looking forward to the Bucs following in the footsteps of the Rays in 2012 and building a young core that can contend season after season. Please check out The Pewter Plank and enjoy the football buzz over the next couple of days before getting back to the sports that we can’t get enough of right now, baseball.
