Got everything about him right but then confused him with the major leaguer Matt White, a situational lefty. Too late to change the title- my fault for not realizing. The players didn't cheat- they seized an opportunity to get larger bonuses- but the D-Rays tried to capitalize at the expense of other teams on a technicality and failed miserably.  Thanks so much for the comments.  Yep, completely wrong on White.
