Rays Notes: Offense, More James Shields, Brooks Conrad

With their two-run third inning last night, the Rays scored multiple runs in an inning since the ninth inning on July 31, a stretch of 39 innings.

Brooks Conrad has been designated for assignment.

With James Shields eight inning performance where he gave up only two hits, he became the third picther in Rays history with back to back starts of at least eight innings and no more than three hits allowed. The others were Rolando Arrojo (1998) and Albie Lopez (2001).
