Giving Thanks For The Rays

Today is Thanksgiving, a day where we, as a nation, sit back and give thanks for those things that we have in life. And with the Tampa Bay Rays, there are many things that we can be thankful for during this holiday season. Below is a quick list of those things that I am thankful for on the Rays.

I am thankful for Evan Longoria, and his presence in the middle of the lineup. Without him, the Rays lineup would be anemic at best.

I am thankful for general Manager Andrew Friedman, and his ability to pluck players off the scrap heap that other teams have given up on. His track record with such moves is nothing short of astounding.

Speaking of, I am thankful for the arrow shooting freak of nature that Fernando Rodney has become, and one of the best seasons in Major League history of any pitcher with 50+ innings of work.

I am thankful for Ben Zobrist, and his ability to seamlessly transition from second base to right field, and now, to shortstop.

I am thankful for David Price, who has continued to develop into a true ace for the Rays. Winning the Cy Young Award may just be the beginning for him, as he is about to enter his theoretical prime.

I am thankful for Big Game James Shields, and his ability to come through in the clutch.

I am thankful for Joe Maddon, whose unconventional strategies and lineups work more often than not, and who may be the best manager in baseball.

I am thankful for one of the best minor league systems in baseball, particularly top prospects such as Hak-Ju Lee and Taylor Guerrieri.

And finally, I am thankful for you, the loyal readers of RCG. Without you all, none of this would matter.
