Tonight’s Game is Rained Out


Up here in the Boston area, where I am located, the weather is miserable. Winter is attempting to reclaim it’s territory, as today have been a cold and dreary grey. Even worse, it has rained all day, causing tonight’s Rays-Red Sox game to be rained out. The makeup date is June 18th, where the game will be played at 1:05 as part of a day-night double header.

However, the cold wet spring day would not be a problem if Fenway was a dome, like the Trop. Thanks to the wonders of technology, we can now see what Fenwaycana would look like:

Just imagine all that history under the roof. The Green Monster, Pesky’s Pole, the only ground rule triple in baseball (if a baseball hits the ladder on the Green Monster and goes over the wall – it’s a triple) and the catwalks all merged together. A little rain outside? Doesn’t matter – Play Ball!

Tomorrow’s game at 1:05 will still feature the matchup of David Price against Jon Lester. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, with temperatures in the upper 50′s.

    You don’t have to tell me how bad that Boston weather is. I once spent a “spring” in Boston that felt like a harsh winter to me: rain, snow and freezing temperatures; no flowers nor leaves on the trees.
    On the other hand, all the people I worked with were really, really nice, and I spent one beautiful weekend in the White Mountains that I’ll never forget.

      I like the weather for about three weeks in July, when it gets over 85 degrees. Otherwise, it is far too cold for me up here.
