Breaking News: Evan Longoria Available to Pinch-Hit for Rays on Monday

Tonight, the Rays have one of the best hitters in baseball on their bench available for one at-bat. That means everything. Roger Mooney reported that although Evan Longoria is out of the lineup, he could be available to pinch-hit. Longoria could miss his third straight game since aggravating his injury on Friday if tonight’s game isn’t close, but that doesn’t matter–he may not be back, but he’s coming soon and may even be feeling well enough to swing the bat if the teams needs it. Never before has pinch-hit availability been so important. The Astros have reason to be scared if by some chance they’re leading in the 8th or 9th inning tonight. And the entirety of baseball should be terrified knowing that Evan Longoria went through that one injury he seems to have every year–but this time he will get by it.
