<p>Last night, the Rays shut out the Orioles to take over second place. Today, it was the Orioles turn to reciprocate.</p>
<p>Baltimore did all their damage with two outs, as <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/hellije01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Jeremy Hellickson</a></strong> was unable to get out of trouble all night. The Orioles jumped on the board in the top of the first. <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/markani01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Nick Markakis</a></strong> walked to lead off the game. After two strikeouts, <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/j/jonesad01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Adam Jones</a></strong> singled, putting runners on first and second. <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/w/wietema01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Matt Wieters</a></strong> singled, driving in Markakis with the first run of the night.</p>
<p>In the top of the second, <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/mclouna01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Nate McLouth</a></strong> doubled to lead off the frame. Again, Hellickson struck out the next two batters, but gave up a Markakis single, putting the Orioles up 2-0. The score held up until the fourth, when the Orioles had one on and two out. Hellickson gave up a walk to Markakis, and an infield single to <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/hardyjj01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">J.J. Hardy</a></strong> to load the bases. <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/player_search.cgi?results=davisch02,davis-008chr,davis-007chr,davis-006chr&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Chris Davis</a></strong> followed wih a two run single, putting Baltimore up 4-0.</p>
<p>That was all for Hellickson, as he left the game after the fourth. For the game, he gave up 4 earned runs on 8 hits and 4 walks over his 4 innings of work. He did strike out 4 batters, all through the first two innings.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/chenwe02.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Wei-Yin Chen</a></strong> was in control for the Orioles. He ran into a bit of trouble in the bottom of the fourth, as the Rays had two on and only one out, but Chen was able to strike out <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/player_search.cgi?results=penaca01,pena--006car,pena--005car,pena--003car,pena--004car&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Carlos Pena</a></strong> and get <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/rodrise01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Sean Rodriguez</a></strong> on a foul ball to the catcher to end the threat. The only other real scoring chance came in the bottom of the fifth, as the Rays had <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/f/fuldsa01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Sam Fuld</a></strong> on second with one out. However, Fuld was nailed trying to steal third, and <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/player_search.cgi?results=molinjo01,molina002alb&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Jose Molina</a></strong> popped out.</p>
<p>Chen picked up the victory, giving up only 5 hits and 1 walk through 7 scoreless innings, while striking out 4 batters. <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/stroppe01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Pedro Strop</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/j/johnsji04.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Jim Johnson</a></strong> pitched the final two innings, closing out the win.</p>
<p>With the victory, the Rays and Orioles find themselves once again in a tie for second in the American League East.</p>
<p>Game Notes: McLouth was added to the roster just before the game, as his contract was purchased from Norfolk. <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/chaveen01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker" target="_blank">Endy Chavez</a></strong> was designated for assignment to make room on the roster.</p>
