Matt Garza Throws A Gem

Last night Matt Garza threw a true masterpiece. He was completely dominating throwing 7.2 IP with 1 H, 1 BB and 10K. He didn’t allow the hit or the walk until the 7th inning (after my friend Dan subsequently turned the game on, after knowing he had a Perfect Game going, and me pleading with him to not turn it on). His fastball and hook were both filthy and he completely baffled Bostons’ lineup all evening.
Of course, the Rays had one of their ridiculous hitting onlslaughts last night with 18 hits and 13 runs. I would imagine this means we probably won’t score tonight or tommorow. Even with those 18 hits, we still left 17 guys on base, just showing you the potential this lineup has to be a cream of the crop run producer with a little better hitting with RISP and some more consistency.
