Rays Squander Gem From Phenom Wade Davis

In a game that ended the way this season is going to end, in a disaster, the Rays squandered a 3-1 lead in the 9th inning and lost to the Tigers 5-3 on Sunday.
It was a highly anticipated game for many Rays fans as it was most fans first chance at seeing young phenom Wade Davis. While many people were upset about the Scott Kazmir deal, the real reason the trade was made was due to the fact that Davis was ready for the bigs. He did not dissapoint throwing a real masterpiece. 7 innings pitched, 3 hits, 1 r, 1er, 9k. His 1 run allowed was a 2nd inning homer by former Ray Aubrey Huff. He threw 105 pitches, 67 for strikes, and showed why many scouts and scouting services had him as a top 20 spec in all of baseball.
Joe Maddon pulled Lance Cormier with 1 out in the 8th after he had been pitching quite well to insert Grant Balfour, who proceeded to walk a guy in for a run, than JP did the exact same. It was all capped off by Russ Springers 3 hits, 0 outs, 2 run masterpiece.
The Rays are now 7 games out of the WC lead, and are pretty much finished as far as the playoffs are concerned. I was laying in my bed sick yesterday watching this game, and almost threw my remote right through my LCD screen.
