Jayson Werth going to the Nationals?
By Unknown author

It really has nothing to do with the Rays, but Jayson Werth, the former Philli has signed an incredible 7 year deal worth up to $126 million with the Washington Nationals. The 32-year old outfielder has signed a big time contract with a team that no one really thought had a choice with him. The Nationals could not get a deal done with slugger Adam Dunn, but for some reason they have gone ahead and put the nation’s capital in even more debt.
So why does this effect the Rays? It really doesn’t, but now Carl Crawford is the last big time power outfielder in the free agent market. With Werth getting this kind of deal, the sky is the limit for CC and any time signing him will have to dig deep into their pockets to sign the former great Ray.
