Higgins Hall in Tampa was the site of the 50th Annual Sports Club of TampaBay Awards Banquet, last night. Bright House Sports Networks’ Drew Fellios was the host for the evenings festivities and wow, he looks like Blake Griffin.

Each year the awards banquet honors professional, as well as amateur athletes throughout the Tampa Bay area. In addition to the MVP Award (given to the most valuable player on the Rays, Bucs, and Lightning) the Sports Club also presented an award for Sports Personality of the Year as well as the George M. Steinbrenner Citizen Award.

Rays President Matthew Silverman took home the George M. Steinbrenner Citizen of the Year Award while David Price was honored as the Rays Most Valuable Player. Both Price and Silverman were in attendance last night, which could not be said for the other recipients: Josh Freeman, Steven Stamkos, and Raheem Morris (Personality of the Year).

This annual event serves as a fundraiser to support the Tampa Boys and Girls Club and amateur sports teams in the community.
