A: Los Angeles Angels

Attendance: 32,287

W: David Price (7-5) 3.35 ERA

L: Tyler Chatwood (3-3) 3.79 ERA

Summary:

After the game on Sunday, I predicted that David Price would have a really strong start after struggling against the Halos his last time out. I’m happy to say I was correct as Price was again dominant and this time he got enough run support early. The Rays scored two in the first and then two more in the sixth on Justin Ruggiano‘s second homer of the season.

Price, meanwhile, struck out seven over seven innings. He struck out the last hitter in each of the third, fourth and fifth including striking out the side in the fifth. He allowed one run, in the eighth before Joe Maddon got him in favor of Cesar Ramos.

In other news, the MLB draft started last night. Through the first 60 picks, the Rays were able to select 10 players. With their first pick the Rays selected high school pitcher Taylor Guerreiri at 24. Check out MLB.com for more info on the draft as well as Fansided’s Seedlings to Stars Minor League blog.
