James Shields Will Not Pitch in the All-Star Game

James Shields might have had one of the best first halves of any pitcher and definitely deserves a starting nod in this year’s All-Star Game, but unfortunately he won’t be able to make the start according to the new rules added in last year. Joe Maddon has set up his rotation to maximize the number of times Shields will start. That means he will start on the Sunday before the All-Star break against the Yankees. How about you? Would you rather see him start against the Yankees or make an appearance in the All-Star Game? Let me know in the poll below.
