By David Hill

Henry Wrigley was named the Topps Minor League Player of the Month for July, as he batted .370 with three home runs and 18 RBIs.
J.P. Howell has pitched 22 consecutive scoreless innings, continuing his streak with a scoreless sixth inning. He has now tied Fernando Rodney for the most consecutive scoreless innings by a Rays relief pitcher in franchise history.
David Price will go for his 15th victory Saturday, and will attempt to become the first pitcher in franchise history with two 15 win seasons.
Since Evan Longoria returned to the lineup, the Rays have scored 26 runs in his four games.
