Rays Notes: Streaks, Alex Colome Leaves Start

With the victory last night, Alex Cobb set a new Rays record by recording a decision in 18 consecutive starts, breaking the mark set by Seth McClung from 2005-06. Cobb has also lasted seven innings in each of his last four starts, going 3-1 with a 1.93 ERA over that stretch.

Matthew Joyce presently has a career high 12 game hitting streak. Last night, he went 1-4 with a run scored. Overall, the Rays offense had ten hits, marking the fifth straight game of ten or more hits, the first time they have done this since 2008.

Alex Colome left his start for Durham in the fifth inning last night with shoulder tightness. There has not yet been any word on the severity of the injury.
