Breaking Rays News: David Price to Miss Start Saturday

After a couple of days of quiet, the Rays suddenly got a shock through their system as they announced that ace David Price will miss his start on Saturday with shoulder soreness. Chris Archer will up from the minor leagues to start on his place. The good news is that it appears to be just a one start thing and Price will be fine moving forward.
Friedman says team Dr. Koco Eaton also evaluated Price, did not consider the problem to be too serious. No MRI performed. #Rays

It’s scary to see Price go down for any period of time, but luckily he’s skipping this start as a precaution and should be ready to go some time during the Rays’ upcoming series versus the Yankees and Orioles. And in Archer, the Rays are giving the ball to a rookie, but Archer is a capable pitcher with big-time stuff who was about to enter the rotation anyway to give Alex Cobb some rest. Hopefully Archer can come up with a good start to keep the Rays in the game versus the Rangers and Price can get right back to dominating whenever he starts next.
