Rays Winter Ball Recap: Jonathan Singleton Goes Deep Again

Jonathan Singleton is doing his best to make up for lost time. After a rough season, he is finishing the year off strong in the PWL.
Domincan Winter League: Estrellas de Oriente 8, Toros del Este 5
Bruedlin Suero got the start for Este and took the loss. He went 2 innings and allowed 4 runs on 4 hits with one being a home run. He’s had a pretty solid fall season overall with an ERA of 3.05. After a solid season in the International League, Joey Terdoslavich has followed it up with an excellent fall season for Este. He went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored while raising his average back up to .300. Mayo Acosta went 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs in the losing effort.
Mexican Pacific League: Naranjeros de Hermosillo 6, Tomateros de Culiacan 3
Ali Solis went 1 for 4 with a 2-run homer for Culiacan. He has now hit safely in 4 consecutive games. Jorge Cantu continued to disappoint by 0 for 5. He’s hitting a dismal .229 this fall for Culiacan. Jason Urquidez pitched a perfect 9th inning with 2 strikeouts to earn the save for Hermosillo.
Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League: Cangrejeros de Santruce 4, Leones de Ponce 2
It was a tough season for Astros’ prospect Jonathan Singleton but he has at least made up for some of it by producing a good fall season for Santurce. He went 2 for 4 with a 2-run home run, which turned out to be the difference in the game. Jeff Dominguez went 3 for 4 with a 2-run home run of his own. Joseph Colon pitched 5 solid innings allowing just 1 run to earn the win.
Venezuelan Winter League: Tigres de Aragua 5, Cardenales de Lara 4
Hector Gimenez went 1 for 5 with a solo home run to help lead Aragua to victory. Wilson Ramos went 2 for 4 with a solo home run as well. He didn’t start the game but Ray Olmedo did manage to get an at bat and score a run. Former Ray Jesus Colome was charged with a blown save after he allowed a 2-run homer while only recording two outs in his outing for Lara.
Navegantes del Magallanes 6, Caribes de Anzoategui 4
Magallanes won on walk off 3-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning by Adonis Garcia. Robinson Chirinos helped the cause by going 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. He also tagged a runner out at the plate. Erold Andrus got an at bat and singled home a run for Anzoategui.
