Here at Rays Colored Glasses, we are not viewing a Ben Zobrist trade as the foregone conclusion that others assess it to be. If the Rays get an offer that includes one of the top prospects in baseball, a deal will happen. Otherwise, the Rays will be thrilled to have Zobrist on their team for 2015 as they hope to rebound from their worst season since 2007.
Regardless of whether a Zobrist trade will happen, however, there are certain misconceptions about Zobrist that need to be cleared up. I’m not going to call out any particular writer, but these ideas came to mind while reading various pieces about the possibility of a Zobrist trade.
