7. Washington Nationals
Part of the appeal of Ben Zobrist for the Washington Nationals is that he could play the outfield until Jayson Werth comes back from shoulder surgery. In addition, Bryce Harper is injury-prone, and the Nationals could use a good backup for when his next DL stint strikes.
DeJesus is an actual outfielder, so in theory, he could fit with the Nationals for those two reasons. They clearly are unlikely to acquire him, though, because they liked Zobrist more as their starting second baseman and because Werth will not miss much regular-season time from his surgery. We will not get to see the Rays trade DeJesus back to Washington after acquiring him from them in August of 2013.
