#5 Alex Cobb

Drafted: in the 4th round of the 2006 draft

Stats

Resume among starters:

  • GS: 81, 9th
  • IP: 489.2, 9th
  • Wins: 35, T-6th
  • ERA: 3.21, 2nd
  • SO: 426, 7th
  • AVG: .238, 3rd
  • Whip: 1.19, T-2nd

Alex Cobb has grown into the Rays ace over the years, establishing himself as one of the best peripheral starters the team has ever had. He hasn’t had the time as a Rays starter to climb all of the stats rankings he will, if he remains a Ray going forward, but you can’t fault his performance over his last two healthy seasons. In hoping that he returns before the end of the season as a healthy and once again dominant starter, we will cheer him on and hope he adds to his already impressive numbers.
