Number Eight Thing to Look Forward to: An All-Star 2B

Whether or not Logan Forsythe makes the All-Star game is irrelevant to me. In 2015, he played like an All-Star, and if he repeats – or dare we say improves on – his 2015 performance, he’ll definitely get consideration for the role in 2016. Any time you can get 17 HR and a .281/.359/.444 line from your 2B, you know you’ve done extremely well.

Most importantly for Forsythe, however, was the fact that he accomplished his offensive performance while still providing above-average defensive play. His 4.1 WAR rating in 2015 was outstanding and placed him 5th in all of MLB. The fact that 3 of the 4 ahead of him were also from the A.L. doesn’t help his chances to make an All-Star team, but he’ll likely continue to provide the Rays with All-Star caliber performances in 2016.
