It never hurts to have a crossover promotion at the ballpark to bring in fans. The Tampa Bay Rays are likely to hit a home run with their Evan Longoria Game of Thrones themed bobblehead.

Earlier this year, it was announced that special Game of Thrones themed days would be coming to ballparks around the game. There would be special giveaways, collectibles, social media events, and ticket packages, amongst other promotions. With the popularity of Game of Thrones, it seemed to be a perfect way to bring more fans over to the ballpark.

House Longo indeed! The only way this could be better is if his Iron Throne was made of baseball bats, or the broken hopes of opposing pitchers. At least the cape wearing figure has a baseball bat for a sceptre. Although, one has to ask, where is Longoria’s dragon?

With the Red Sox in town, the Rays should have no shortage of people in the stadium vying for tickets. Add in the excellent promotion, and the Rays should have no problem being close to a capacity crowd at the Trop. After all, what Rays fan, or baseball fan in general, wouldn’t want one of these bobbleheads? I know that personally, I’m considering the drive down from Vermont to try to get one of these while taking in a game.
