Tampa Bay Rays – AJ Hinch is a Joke and Blake Snell was Robbed

AJ Hinch selected Kevin Cash as a coach for his All Star staff.  Should Cash have said no and demanded Snell be picked over Gerritt Cole?

Come on.  Kevin Cash was selected to coach in the All Star Game.  By friend AJ Hinch. Who then, turned around and snubbed Blake Snell. Really? How does Kevin Cash sleep tonight? Stay home with your family and get one of the best pitchers in the American League his due.

In the end, if Blake Snell doesn’t end up in Washington, it will be a travesty. The roster will evolve over the next seven days.  But, this is stupid.  Kevin Cash, on the other hand, gets to attend his second straight All Star Game.  Enjoy that.

If AJ Hinch is paying attention, Blake Snell is 12 and 4 this season.  Ok. Your guy Cole is 9 and 2.  2.70 ERA.  I like Snell’s 2.09 ERA better.  Thank you.  Did AJ Hinch really ask Kevin Cash to coach just to make up for his all-star snub of Snell?  Hey Kev, turn down the offer. Your player just got snubbed.  You should not go if he doesn’t.  Period.

Blake Snell proves why the Rays will never move out of the afterthought.

There is nothing that doesn’t make Blake Snell an All Star.  His shutout yesterday was only an example.  It wasn’t racing to the finish line.  The Tampa Bay Rays will always get jobbed.  Gerritt Cole doesn’t deserve the all-star selection over Blake Snell.

Yes, I get it.  Hinch earned the right to build his own roster by being the World Series manager. But Cole wasn’t your guy. He wasn’t there last year. He’s a newcomer this season.  And, his numbers are inferior to Snell’s.  HInch was just on ESPN and stated that perhaps more Astros will go. Yay.  Remember the city that opened their arms to you when you couldn’t play in Houston last season?  Is that worth anything?   The Trop was your home away from home.

Next: Will the Red Sox come looking for a catcher?

In the end, I hope Blake Snell gets selected to go to the All Star Game.  He most likely will. There’s nothing that would say he shouldn’t.  And, I hope he says “no thanks”.  And, I hope he looks at is manager and says, thanks a lot. How does Kevin Cash go with a joking comment that he’s better than anyone at throwing nine pitchers in nine innings?  And, he has one of the best starting pitchers in all of baseball on his staff.  There are some who are obviously missing the point.
