The Tampa Bay Rays should sign Bryce Harper to a one year mega deal

Okay, but now the comment sections have burned to the ground with hate, and comments saying out it will never happen despite not reading the article where I clearly shared that same thought that it will never happen. Just look at yesterday’s article about the Tampa Bay Rays Expos.

Everyone else around baseball media got to capitalize on Bryce Harper’s free agency, and before he inks his new deal at some point this Spring (he has to sign eventually, right?) it is time Rays Colored Glasses got in on the Bryce Harper clicks.

Yes, I know, this will never ever happen. Harper does not want a short term much less one year deal, and he certainly will not pick Tampa Bay.

However, the Tampa Bay Rays front off should offer every cent they can short of reaching the luxury tax for a one year Harper deal.

Harper has played host to a ten WAR season in his young career. He is incredible, an MVP, All Star, Rookie of the Year, Silver Slugger winner and one of the most if not the most popular name in all of baseball.

Throw that onto a 90 win ball club, and are we not talking World Series contenders?

Bryce Harper could change the landscape of baseball by signing in Tampa Bay. That would be the plus side for him.

If he were to come to Tampa Bay, he would still be a Super Star, and the most popular man in baseball.

That would pave the way for more stars to realize that with the media of today’s day in age you can legitimately be a star anywhere. If you have talent, if you have swagger, the cameras will find you.

That is why I think Willy Adames is primed for a break out season.

This would be a huge plus for the Rays off the field as well. Their front office brass is known as the cheapest in baseball.

Remember, this Article was all in good fun, and not at all a prediction that it will truly happen. It will not. You can relax and just enjoy a fun article. Follow us on Twitter @RaysColoGlasses and check out our new Rays Colored Podcast!
