The Tampa Bay Rays remain 3.5 games back of the Yankees after suffering a 10-1 defeat against the Twins on Monday in Baseball-Reference’s simulated season.

Tampa Bay Rays starter Tyler Glasnow has had an up and down simulated season in Baseball-Reference’s OOTP simulation of the 2020 season.

Things were definitely on the downside yesterday as Glasnow faced off against Kenta Maeda and the Minnesota Twins.

Glasnow entered the game with a 3-5 record and left 3-6 after giving up five earned runs in just 2.0 innings pitched. Byron Buxton led the game off with his 11th home run of the season with a solo blast off Glasnow.

Jorge Polanco followed up with his fifth homer of the year later in the first inning with two on and two out. Miguel Sano added to the parade of power with his 12th homer of the season in the third inning.

Polanco went deep again in the third inning off of Anthony Banda, as Glasnow was already out of the game at that point.

Glasnow’s ERA now sits at 4.35 on the season.

The Rays continue to get no production from the leadoff spot in the lineup. Manuel Margot filled in for Kevin Kiermaier today and went 0-4. On the season, Margot is hitting just .160 on the season, which is only slightly worse than Kiermaier’s .198.

Incredibly, simulated Kevin Cash continues to go with the two center fielders in the leadoff position. Come on simulated Kevin Cash, get your head on straight!

Austin Meadows stole his sixth base of the season and Yandy Diaz had his 13th double of the season with three walks. His average sits at .305 on the season.

dark. Next. Why there will be a 2020 season

Joey Wendle got the start as the designated hitter today and turned the opportunity into his first homer of the season while going 3-5 and raising his average to .292 on the season.
