The Tampa Bay Rays have declined a club option that would have paid Kiermaier $13 million in 2023 and instead made him a free agent.
Kevin has been an integral part of the Rays since making his MLB debut on September 30, 2013, in a 163-game wild card tiebreaker.
Kevin went on to win three Gold Glove Awards (in 2015, 2016 and 2019) as well as one Platinum Glove in 2015.
Kevin showed everybody how to play baseball the Rays way, which was with hustle, grit, and passion. We wish nothing but the best for Kevin Kiermaier here at Rays Colored Glasses, and we thank you for your love of the game and your love of Tampa Bay.
