The Rays have had no shortage of talent in their farm system over the past few seasons and most of the those players have made an impact right away. Just last year the Rays called up number one prospect Wander Franco, who provided a .288/.347/.463 slash line .810 OPS and 128 OPS+. On the pitching side, Shane McClanahan impressed with 3.43 ERA and 27.3% K rate in 123.1 innings. Shane Baz also provided the Rays with three fantastic starts in September, and even started ALDS game two vs the Red Sox. in the final month of the regular season.

Going back to 2020 the Rays got a historic performance in the postseason from rookie trade acquisition Randy Arozarena. He obliterated the baseball to a .377/.442/.831 slash with 10 home runs and 19 RBI across 20 playoff games, leading the Rays to the World Series. While they would eventually drop the series to the Dodgers in six games, the Rays most likely would not have even made the World Series without Randy Arozarena. He ended up taking home the ALCS MVP and broke numerous records along the way.

In this article I will examine five potential prospects who could make a major impact for the Tampa Bay Rays as they compete for another playoff berth in the competitive AL East Division.
