In what is the MLB's version of college football's national signing day, the Rays stocked up by picking up 24 prospects to start this year's international signing period.

The Rays had quite a good class this year, topping it with the "12th best in the class" according to MLB.com in Brailer Gurrerro.

The Rays' international signing period has been a success, with the team able to bring in top names such as Wander Franco, who was part of the 2017 class and was regarded as the best of the best.

This year's class for the Rays is very positional heavy, with 16 out of the 24 prospects signed being position players. The team also focused on the middle of the infield and behind the dish by adding five catchers and six middle infielders, a position group that the Rays have developed well over the years.

Early, it's hard to discuss the future for these 24 prospects without seeing what they do against pro competition, but the international prospects do have high praise from many and it creates a times for fans to get excited about the future of the system and the team.

Although 24 is where the Rays currently sit in terms of their signings, there is still time for more additions to be made to the current crop of signees, and this can change as we go through this period, but at the moment, Rays fans and personnel should be pleased at the talent the team has landed.
