The Tampa Bay Rays are still in the midst of a hunt for the AL East crown and a series win over the New York Yankees today would be a step in the right direction for them.

Each team has won a game so far this series, so today's series finale will serve as the rubber match.

Yankees vs. Rays odds, run line, and total

Yankees vs. Rays prediction and pick

I'm a bit shocked we can bet on the Rays at -140 odds to win today's series finale. Are they not aware of just how much the Yankees suck now?

It's not just reflecting in wins and losses either, it's also reflecting on the stat sheet. Dating back to the All-Star Break, the Yankees rank 26th in OPS at just .692. Only the Guardians, Marlins, White Sox, and Giants have been worse in that time frame.

Also, it's not like the Yankees have stellar pitching to lean back on today. Carlos Rodon gets the start this afternoon, and he has a 6.27 ERA since joining the Yankees rotation in July. His 7.05 FIP (Field Independent Pitching) shows that he's been actually pitching worse than his already ugly 6.27 indicates.

I have complete faith the Rays will get the job done today and win the series.
