Brandon Lowe has been one of the most consistent players in this organization since signing a 6-year deal worth $24 million in 2019. Entering his age 30 season, the Rays' front office has to make an important decision on whether they want to accept his club option to keep him in a Rays' jersey or pay the $1 million buyout and release him from the organization. This critical determination must be decided within five days of the end of the World Series according to Adam Berry of the Rays' Beat newsletter.

Despite the difficulty with injuries, Brandon Lowe has been a game-changer in the Rays' everyday lineup since his rookie year in 2019. The University of Maryland graduate hit .270 with 17 HRs and 51 RBIs en route to his first all star appearance that year. He also finished 3rd in Rookie of the Year voting that season behind only John Means of the Orioles and the award winner, Yordan Alvarez of the Astros. Lowe hasn't looked back since his rookie campaign as he has mashed a total of 109 HRs over the last five seasons. 2021 was his best season as the infielder missed only 13 games and hit .247 with 39 HRs.

Rays' fans got a glimpse of what Lowe can accomplish in a full season and we believe it would be hard to find a Tampa Bay supporter that would be ready to part ways with the power hitting lefty. Although his strikeout numbers tend to be on the high end, his power and ability to drive in runs is unmatched. When Brandon Lowe is locked in, he's one of the best second basemen in the sport. According to Bleacher Report, Lowe was ranked 2nd among all MLB second basemen in 2021, trailing Marcus Semien of the Blue Jays.

With all of this said, we have definitely seen Lowe falter a little bit in recent years, but the Virginia native has still been one of the most substantial contributors for an offense that is already in desperate need of help. Lowe has hit 21 HRs each of the last two seasons while playing less than 110 games in both campaigns. Hopefully, injuries don't play a factor in 2025 and we get to witness a full season from Brandon Lowe..... in a Rays' uniform.
