At the moment, the Tampa Bay Rays are playing pretty well. Thanks in large part to some absolutely insane pitching of late, the Rays are winners of seven of their last 10 games and are set to take on the somewhat aimless Rangers this week with Drew Rasmussen getting the start on Tuesday. Unfortunately, there is rain rolling through the area that is spoiling all of our fun.
Rasmussen already faced a tall task Tuesday evening as run support may be tough to come by with Texas sending Tyler Mahle, who inexplicably is among the better pitchers in baseball so far in 2025, to the mound. Now, everyone's plans and routines have been thrown for a loop as we are officially in a rain delay and could stay that way for a while.
**UPDATE: 8:38 PM EST**
Welp, that didn't take very long at all. After a brisk 17 minute delay, this game is back under way. Florida weather is pretty wild.
I wrote this during the delay. The delay lasted 17 minutes. So at least click for my effort. https://t.co/jqfuGkEEV8

Rays vs. Rangers Rain Delay - 6/3: When will this game start?
The forecast for this evening is pretty classic Florida weather with a chance of rain pretty much the rest of the night. However, the chances of rain do diminish as the evening goes on and assuming the field isn't trashed (a bigger potential problem given that Tampa plays on a minor league field), they are going to try and get this game in and not tempt the weather again by rescheduling.
We will keep this post updated throughout the night as more information becomes available as to what the weather is doing and when this game should get started. No guarantees here that this game doesn't get postponed, but that they went with a delay instead of immediately postponing it is a pretty good sign that officials think the weather will eventually clear up.
