If it wasn't for the NL Central, the Rays would be the best team in the MLB... by far. Despite going a miserable 5-10 against teams from that talented division, Tampa Bay still holds the second-best record in the American League as they've absolutely dominated against their own league. In 11 games against AL teams, the Rays are 10-1 and haven't lost one such game since April 3rd.

Rays @ Twins (2-1)

Tampa's last defeat against an AL team came on April 3rd against the Minnesota Twins when former Rays' infielder Tristan Gray crushed a grand slam, giving them a 10-4 victory. Ever since, Tampa Bay has won 10 games in a row against the American League. Game two was a 7-1 rout by the Rays, but the rubber match went 10 innings as Richie Palacios played the hero with a go-ahead blast.

Yankees @ Rays (3-0)

The Rays' unbelievable sweep of the Yankees at Tropicana Field has undoubtedly been the highlight of this 2026 season. Each game was close as they all finished with two or less runs of deficit. Game 2 was the most exciting contest as the Rays won on a 10th inning walk-off that was fueled by multiple bunts and infield hits. Nonetheless, this series allowed the Rays to rapidly gain on their rivals in the AL East and eventually take the lead for a short time.

Rays @ White Sox (3-0)

Next, the Rays had the luxury of facing a struggling White Sox club in the midst of their hot streak. Tampa hitters 21 runs in the series as they completed that sweep rather easily. Those three wins increased their winning streak to six games. They would drop their next one against the Pirates of the... NL Central.

Twins @ Rays (2-0)

In this current series against the Twins, the Rays have displayed a dominance that fans haven't seen in a while. They have employed the long ball more than usual over the last couple games as they've slugged five home runs including two apiece from Junior Caminero and Jonathan Aranda. The Rays will look to complete their third sweep of the season as Jesse Scholtens faces off against the 25-year-old Simeon Woods Richardson.
