The top prospects who have labored through this year's editon of the Arizona Fall League will get uninterrupted attention from baseball fans. The teams are divided between the American League and National League as each player represents the organization he plays for. Rays top prospect, Tre' Morgan will be featured in the American League clubhouse this evening as the only Tampa Bay minor leaguer to be selected.
As a member of the Mesa Solar Sox, Morgan has forced the league to take notice of his incredible abilities. The 22-year old first baseman is sporting a notable .347 AVG with one home run and 15 runs batted in. The LSU product is also 2nd in the AFL with eight doubles, showcasing his contact expertise and speed. We can imagine that the Rays front office is relishing in his performance as they plan for the future of their club.
Tre' Morgan has also shown his worth throughout his time in the Rays farm system as he has jumped up to Double-A Montgomery in only two seasons, while collectively producing a .333 batting average. He has also generated 40 extra-base hits in his short minor league career. This impressive offense propelled the Biscuits into a first-place finish in the Southern League South division.
Despite Morgan's two-hit effort, the Biscuits dropped both games of the Southern League championship series and were defeated by the Chicago White Sox Double-A affiliate, Birmingham Barons.
Needless to say, Tre' Morgan is on the fast track to becoming a member of the Tampa Bay Rays. His All-Star game nod is just one of many accomplishments from this young star.
However, the All-Star game will only contain one player from the Rays talented minor league system. Another player that is having a solid showing in the desert is Tampa Bay's No. 2 prospect, Xavier Isaac. The strong first baseman has crushed four home runs so far in Arizona.
Other acclaimed additions to this year's Fall League All-Star rosters include Padres No. 1 prospect, Ethan Salas, Reds No. 3 prospect, Edwin Arroyo, and Mets No. 2 prospect, Jett Williams.
